Employment Pass

The Employment Pass (EP) is the main type of Singapore work visa issued to foreign professional employees, managers, and owners/directors of Singapore companies.

  • You need to have a minimum salary of S$3,600.
  • Have acceptable qualifications, usually a good university degree, professional qualifications or specialist skills.
  • Have a job offer in Singapore.
  • Director of the company (Overseas), you may need to meet certain criteria and qualifications. 

S Pass

The S Pass is a Singapore work visa issued to the worker who has a relevant experience and acceptable qualifications.

  • You need to have a minimum salary of S$2,300.
    Note: From 2020, minimum salary must be at least S$2,400.
  • The worker must have a degree or a diploma and must have at least 1 year of full time study.
  • a company who intends to hire S pass worker must have met certain quota requirement; quota is capped at 15% of the company’s total workforce in the services sector or 20% in all other sectors.

Work Permit

Work permit is generally issued to foreign unskilled and semi-skilled workers. Unlike the other permits, a company who intends to hire a worker under this permit must comply with certain requirements that is not required if you use other permits type, such as:

  • Buy a security bond for each non-Malaysian worker
  • Buy and maintain medical insurance for each worker to cover in-patient care and surgery costs.
  • Pay workers their salaries and the cost of their upkeep and maintenance, including the cost of medical treatment. When the employment is terminated, employer must bear the cost of repatriation, including buying an air ticket with check-in luggage allowance.
  • As for the workers, they must also comply with many other requirements.

Dependent Pass

Unlike any other passes, dependent pass is a type of Singapore visa that is attached to either Employment pass or S pass holder. The sponsoring pass must meet the following requirement:

  • They must have a minimum salary of S$6,000.
  • Are sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company (usually your employer).

DEPENDENT PASS

For family members who want to stay in Singapore.

A Dependent Pass is valid for the same period of time as the main work pass

Minimum monthly salary of the sponsoring work pass S$6,000

WORK PERMIT

For semi-skilled foreign employees (e.g.  construction workers).

Valid for 1 - 2 years and can be renewed after

Minimum monthly salary must be at least S$2,200

S PASS

For mid-skilled foreign employees (e.g. technicians).

Valid up to 3 years

Minimum monthly salary must be at least S$2,300

For most cases, it will take up to 3 weeks to approve.

LONG TERM VISIT PASS

Eligibility is based on the current status between the pass and the LTVP holder.

Maximum validity is 2 years

The duration of validity may also depends on the status of the work pass.
